About Melissa Elvery

Melissa Elvery

I am Melissa and a Remedial Massage Therapist, with over four years of experience. As a remedial therapist, I assess soft tissue and the skeletal system alike. Then use the appropriate knowledge to assess the problem areas to treat the client effectively. I am a Bribie Island local for many years (over 20) and I have been working locally for over 4 years.

Working for myself, I offer Remedial and Relaxation in-clinic treatments as well as mobile treatments. Also offering corporate bookings and function bookings to the Bribie Island and surrounds, locals and visitors.

My vision is to help people understand muscular pain and that it is real. While being able to get to a place that is ideal for them. Whether it be to manage the pain and or eliminate the pain through treatments and self-care.

While not working I love spending time with my partner and friends watching movies, playing games, eating and having a great time. It’s made even better if I can combine these things with my and my friends’ dogs, so they can all have fun playing and expending energy with ease and comfort for everyone.

A little background information:

I first had a passion for helping people through massage when I was going through primary school.¬†However through my education pathways, alternative medicine was not considered as serious employment. I followed a path for legal and administrative work, and soon realised that, that wasn’t for me.

I ended up leaving that pathway, started massage and haven’t looked back. Started study with the (Certificate IV in Massage Therapy and then the) Diploma of Remedial Massage at Endeavour College of Natural Health, completing the study in 2013. I joined the Australian Natural Therapies Association shortly after completion.

I started working as a therapist for a company in New Farm shortly after graduating, while still living on Bribie Island. While employed there I worked along side Osteopaths to create and improve treatment plans for numerous clients. After 2 and a half years I decided that that position was no longer for me and started working for myself in my local area of Bribie Island. I was amazingly offered to rent space from Sandra (a local Musculoskeletal Therapist) and have been working from her location since, as well as offering mobile and corporate bookings. I am eternally grateful for being offered the opportunity to work from Sandra’s space. As it has given me more insight, knowledge and experience with more advanced client cases/treatment plans and business tasks.
